To the editor:
I wish to make a plea to anyone who every needed or think they will need medical help at a hospital to write to our state politicians and the governor to let them know that the closing of Lehigh Regional Medical Center and allowing them to move to a more affluent area will only put a further burden on the residents of Lehigh Acres. We helped build the hospital to what it is today, and to have the moving away for purpose of monetary gain, while ignoring the conditions of our area, is a slap in the face we do not need.
The war between Lee Memorial Health System and Health Management Associates will only show who is willing to fight for the profit of the so called affluent area. And you can bet that we will not reap any benefits except a looming empty building that resembles a Hospital.
