During February, contractors pulled 70 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at nearly $17.2 million in unincorporated Lee County.
That compares to 54 permits issued in January and 47 issued in February 2012, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.
During February, 28 multi-family units were permitted, compared to eight in January and 18 in February 2012.
General commercial activity was valued at nearly $980,000, compared to $2.5 million in January and more than $1.8 million in February 2012.
During January, Lee County Community Development issued 2,782 permits of all kinds.
Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection, and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
