Lloyd "Terry" Altemose, 71, of Lehigh Acres, and Clinton, N.J., died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Gulf Coast Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 21, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the son of Lloyd Altemose and Marion (Knight) of Pocono Pines, Pa.
He served in the Pennsylvania U.S. Army National Guard.
He was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College and was employed for more than 45 years as a customer service representative for First Energy Corporation, before retiring in 1998.
He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed learning about religious and spiritual topics. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and enjoyed doing research on interplanetary and astronomical studies.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his loving wife, Margaret "Peg" Altemose, with whom he celebrated his 37th wedding anniversary on Oct. 30, 2012; son, Erik (Catherine) Altemose of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; stepson, Barry Bittenmaster of Clinton, N.J.; son-in-law, Patrick Brown of Phillipsburg, N.J.; stepdaughter, Sharon Storr Bittenmaster of Clinton, N.J.; grandchildren, Sean, Kelsey, Bryan, Chris and Hannah; brother, Bruce (Pat) Altemose of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and sister, Margaret "Margie" Murphy of Stroudsburg, Pa.
He was predeceased by his parents; and stepdaughter, Lorie Brown, in June 2010.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Anderson-Patterson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Lockwood.
