Eva Mae Van Horne Taylor, 96, of Lehigh Acres, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013. She was born June 16, 1916, in Revere, Mass., to John Thomas and Jenny Amelia Van Horne.
A resident of Lehigh since 1964, she married DeCourcy Lawrence Taylor on March 6, which would later be the month and day of her death.
A strong woman of love and faith, she was a member of St. Anselm Episcopal Church.
She was personally ministered to by the Rev. AJ Neugebauer, of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, for several years.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Gilbert) Van Horne Sowders; grandchildren, Stephen Wayne (Nancy) Sowders, Shawn Wesley (Laurie) Sowders, Sherri Lynn (Randy) Bunton, Stacy Ellis Hewitt, Derrick Brent (Jolene) Sowders and Saralyn Dawn (Christopher) Willard; 17 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, DeCourcy Lawrence Taylor; children, Penelope Taylor (Jimmy) Ellis, Marjorie Taylor, John (Carol) Van Horne Taylor; and grandchild, Jimmy L. (Amber) Ellis Jr.
