At about 10:03 p.m. April 18, the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a carjacking in the front parking lot of Walmart, at 2523 Lee Blvd.
Deputies arrived on scene and met with the alleged victim.
A woman stated that she loaded groceries in the trunk of her vehicle and returned her cart to a cart kiosk in the parking lot. Upon returning to her vehicle, she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and demanded that she give him everything she had.
The woman turned around and tried to get away, however the man grabbed her arms and snatched her keys from her hand. The man then entered her vehicle, along with a second man, and they drove away.
As deputies were on scene at Walmart, dispatch advised there was a hit and run crash reported at Lee Boulevard and Gunnery Road.
It was confirmed that the vehicle from the carjacking was involved in the crash and that both occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.
An extensive perimeter was set up; however the men were not located.
Both men are described as black, possibly in their early 20s. Assistance is needed with their identification.
