The Lee County Port Authority, operator of Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field, was recognized by the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association at the 2013 Local Image Awards presented in Fort Myers. LCPA received an Image Award for its Southwest Florida International Airport Facebook launch in the Public Relations Programs - Internal category.
The Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA conducts the Local Image Awards annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in Southwest Florida. It has become a standard of excellence and demonstrate the best of innovation, planning and design in the region.
An Image Award is given to an entry that meets the criteria for excellence and earns the highest score in their particular category. The 2013 competition received 22 entries from organizations throughout Lee County and was judged by the Gainesville Chapter of FPRA.
Established in 1938, the Florida Public Relations Association is the oldest public relations organization in the United States. FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida.
The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is dedicated to programs and activities that enhance the success of public relations professionals in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.
