Evie V. Kaelin, 91, of Lehigh Acres, died Saturday, May 11, 2013. She was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Ransons, Va., to Thomas Clayton and Lelia Elizabeth (nee Davis) Maxey.
She married Raymond Charles Kaelin, a retired 30-year Marine veteran, on Jan. 25, 1969, in Woodbridge, Va.
She supported the troops by working in a civilian position in Hawaii and Virginia. She left that career as a G12.

She and her husband moved to Lehigh Acres in 1973. She was a longtime member of American Legion Post 323, Elks Post 339 and VFW Post 4174, all of Lehigh Acres.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie S. Smith; grandchildren, Kristie L. Pasquarette, Letisha D. Kennedy, Stephanie Lutz and Michelle Johnson; "adopted sister," Marie Cornell; cousin, Danny Davis; and several cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ira Clayton Lutz; and grandson, Stephen Scott Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Lee Boulevard Baptist Church, at 3107 Lee Blvd., with the Rev. Claude Wilson officiating. Inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
