American Legion to host ceremony for Memorial Day
American Legion Post 323, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4174 and Lee Memorial Park will hold the annual Memorial Day Observance May 27, 2013, beginning at 10 a.m.
The cemetery is at 12777 State Route 82. Welcome will be given by Zachary Parnell, Lee Memorial Park.
Introduction of the speaker will be Commander Jerry Sherlock, American Legion Post 323. Guest speaker will be Florida’s Cracker Cowboy Poet Laureate Carl Sharp.
Wreaths will be placed by American Legion Post 323, American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 323, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 323, American Legion Riders, Chapter 323, VFW Post 4174, VFW Ladies Auxiliary 4174, VFW Men’s Auxiliary and all other groups wishing to place wreaths.
A pot luck luncheon will be served at the American Legion Post 323 at 1124 Ashlar Avenue, after the observance at Lee Memorial Park.
