Doris Eileen Clapper, 87, of Lehigh Acres, died Monday, May 20, 2013. She was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Canton, Ohio, a child of Melvin and Mary Youtz.

A graduate of Canton Township High School in 1943, she was the owner of Edith's Hat Shop and Kiddee Corner in Minerva, Ohio.

On Easter Sunday, April 1945, at Christ Reformed Church, she met John Norvin Clapper, whom she later married Nov. 28, 1946.

She took pride in being a longtime member of the Robertsville Grange. In 1972, she and her husband moved to Lehigh, where they owned and operated Norgetown Laundromat and Dorothy K, a women's dress shop.

She was a member at the First Christian Church of Lehigh and most recently attended First Baptist Church of Lehigh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Faith Youtz Rosenberger.

She is survived by her husband; sons, James (Carol), Dennis (Vicki), Dale (Brenda) and Jon (Kori); 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, May 25, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Lehigh Acres.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice, First Baptist Church of Lehigh Acres or Lehigh Acres Christian Church.
