Viola Lee Fuller, 88, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013. She was born Jan. 24, 1925, in Alva, a child of Curtis Ledward and Carrie Thigpen Flynn.
She lived most of her life in Lee County.
She graduated from Alva High School and was an innovative business woman of the highest integrity. Her positive attitude, smile and great laugh live on in her family.
She owned and operated Vi's Restaurant on Bay Street in downtown Fort Myers for more than 20 years. Next, she owned a restaurant on Fort Myers Beach for more than 10 years. She also served as chef for the Beach Lion's Club.
When she retired, she volunteered for the Dr. Piper Center, serving numerous clients to whom she was a special friend. She was named volunteer of the year in 2011.
She was a faithful, active member of Alva Methodist Church for 76 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Lee Fuller of Lehigh Acres; brother, Jimmy Flynn; sister, Opal Scombordi of Vero Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Francis and Cecil; sisters, Nellie Bryant and Becky Clarke; and spouse, Johnnie Fuller.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Alva Methodist Church, at 21440 Pearl St., Alva.
