Boyd Lee Fisher, 79, of Lehigh Acres, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was born in Benton, Tenn., to George T. and Rosa Lee Cloer Fisher.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years, then served in the 1st Calvary during Vietnam in the U.S. Army, before retiring after 20 years as a specialist first class.
He worked at Mallory Battery, then co-owned a resale shop and lastly worked as a welder for Florida Aluminum and Steel.
He loved fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He made his own furniture and items for others.
He loved the outdoors, his dogs and family gatherings at his home, where he enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include his wife, Emmie Sue Fisher, and her children; sisters, Ruth Ann Fain, Elaine Miller and Veta Waldrop; brother, Jack Fisher; daughters, Bernice Raymond and Karen Wills; son, Terry Fisher; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Fisher, Ralph Fisher and Jerry Fisher; sisters, Helen Fisher and Mary Lang, and son, Ricky Lee Fisher.
Visitation was held Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the Akin-Davis Funeral Home in Fort Myers. Funeral services were held at the Fike Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tenn. Interment with military honors took place at the Boanerges Baptist Cemetery in Old Fort, Tenn.
