Eugen Borosch

A Mass of the Resurrection for Eugen Borosch, 74, of Fort Myers, a well-known businessman in Lehigh Acres, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 at the Blessed Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church at 13060 Palomino Lane, off of Daniels Parkway.

Borosch died May 30 following a fall at his home in Fiddlesticks the day before where he suffered an injury to his head. He was hospitalized at Lee Memorial Hospital where he died the following morning.

Borosch, a native of Germany, moved to Chicago as an automotive executive who later moved to New Jersey where he retired from the BMW firm. He and his wife, Conchita, moved to Florida in the late 1970s, according to a close friend, Siggy Lorenz, a real estate businessman in Lehigh Acres.

Borosch was also in the real estate business, owned several properties and was an investor. He and his wife owned the Lehigh Towne Centre on the corner of Homestead and Alabama roads, which was the site of his office and Lehigh Showcase Properties and the Sentinel Finance Company, which provides loans and mortgages to local residents.

He was the first winner of the coveted Heart of Lehigh Award, given to him to honor an outstanding person who through his business and personal dealings had helped the Lehigh Chamber of Commerce community and the people of Lehigh Acres.

A full story about his life appeared in the June 5 edition of The Lehigh Acres Citizen and on LehighAcresCitizen.com.

In addition to his wife, Conception (Conchita), he is survived by his daughter, Hildegard Goertz and son-in-in-law, Dominik Goertz, and a granddaughter of Fort Myers.
