438 students receive perfect scores on state subject area exams

The School District of Lee County has received notice from the Florida Department of Education that of the 50,000 students tested in the District this year, 438 students – 339 district students and 99 charter students – have received a perfect score on an FCAT 2.0 subject area test or End of Course exam.

Personalized certificates with the student’s name and Gov. Rick Scott’s signature are being forwarded to schools this week.

Students achieving a level 3 or above on an FCAT 2.0 subject area test or End of Course exam can also expect to receive a congratulatory letter from Gov. Scott. The FCAT 2.0 included subject tests in Reading, Math, Science, and Writing; while the End of Course exams covered Geometry, Biology, Algebra and U.S. History.

The the District has not received a breakdown of perfect scores by subject area.

Overall, Lee County students in grades 3-10 performed primarily at or above the state level in FCAT 2.0 Reading, Math, Science and Writing.
