Curtis P. "Curt" Middleton, 60, formerly of Lehigh Acres, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at his home in Mississippi. He suffered a heart attack Monday, June 17, 2013.
He was an owner and executive editor of the Lehigh Acres Gazette blog site online, working with Robert Anderson of Lehigh.
Longtime residents recall his presence in the community, where in the course of time he worked on the Lehigh Acres Citizen and the News-Star news staffs.

He was in charge of all editorial operations on the blog site and used his skills as a former newspaper publisher to help guide the business end, as well. He was also associated with news products in Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi and Tennessee, as well as Florida.
He raised his four children in Lehigh Acres.
Along with the operation of the two local newspapers, he was actively involved in Little League baseball, Pop Warner football and parents' associations supporting school activities like the Lehigh Lightning Marching Band.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Rebecca and Samantha; son, Jeremiah.
He was predeceased by his son, Jason, who was killed Jan. 20 2011, while conducting combat operations in the Helmand province in Afghanistan.
Memorial services were held Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, Miss. A memorial service in Florida is still pending.
