Helen Vetter Brady, 95, a former longtime resident of Lehigh Acres, died peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2013. She was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Newark, N.J., the daughter of the late George and Nellie Vetter.
Married on Aug. 31, 1946, to Joseph T. Brady, who died in 1993, she was a graduate of Our Lady of the Valley High School in Orange, N.J.
She worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone in Newark, Radio Corporation of America in Cedar Knolls, N.J., and Realty World in Lehigh.

She lived with her husband and family in Morris Plains, N.J., before moving to Florida in 1977. In February 2004, she moved to her son's house in Mill Spring, N.C.
While in Lehigh, she was very active and was president of the now defunct Lehigh Acres Camera Club. She was a well-known photographer while living in Lehigh. It was her hobby and she photographed many of the residents in the community. She was the oldest living member of the club.
She was also an avid bowler her entire life and enjoyed a few 200-plus games.
Her photography in the Lehigh Acres and Carolina camera clubs won numerous awards. Her warm personality drew many friends, young and old, over the years. She was active in community groups and women's clubs in New Jersey, Florida and North Carolina.
She got her driver's license in 1934 and drove proudly for the next 79 years.
Surviving are her son, Glenn M. Brady of Mill Spring, N.C.; and daughter, Kathleen A. (Richard J. Harter) Brady of Cream Ridge, N.J.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today, July 24, 2013, at McFarland's Funeral Chapel in Tryon, N.C. A Mass and burial will take place in New Jersey, under the direction of Leonardis Funeral Home.
