Man charged with five burglaries

Businesses along the busy Lee Boulevard corridor in Lehigh Acres were targeted in string of early morning thefts last week. This sparked an aggressive response from the deputies assigned to the Lehigh Acres District in an effort to capture the brazen suspect.

Over the weeks, members of the Bravo District conducted a burglary suppression operation in an attempt to stop the recent trend of business burglaries.

During the operation, members observed a white man walking suspiciously along Lee. The man, later identified as Patrick Thomas Hudson, 27, was observed pulling on the door handle of a local establishment, investigators said.

While maintaining visual surveillance, the man was observed throwing a brick through the glass window of the business and made entry, investigators added. Hudson was listed as homeless on sheriff’s reports.

Deputies moved in and took Hudson into custody. Hudson was charged with five business burglaries.

The investigation is ongoing.
