Michael C. Danforth, 72, of Lehigh Acres, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at his home.
A native of Marion, Ind., he was a retired owner of Michael's IGA in Goshen, Ind., and a member of the Samaritan Lodge 105 F&AM.
He was a president of the PTA in Marion, president of the Shopping Center Association in Marion, served on the board of directors for the Little League in Brazil, Ind., chairman of the Heart Fund Association in Brazil, and a member of the Parks and Recreation Board in Goshen.
In retirement, he worked for Rice Corp. in Bonita Springs.
He was an avid boat enthusiast, cruising waters of Southwest Florida with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Midge; sons, Todd (Dennise) of Marco Island, Mark (Stephanie) of Palmetto, Fla., and Steve (Joann) of Pensacola, Fla.; brother, Patrick of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Jacqy Roberts of Arizona and Mary Ann Frankenfield of Marion, Ind.; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Mark Jr., Harrison, Camron, Cori Addy and Trey; great-grandchildren, Landon and Sofia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Fern Danforth; and son, David.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the Lehigh Acres Christian Church, at 50 Bell Ave.
