School gallery to show photography exhibit
Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts invites the public to its first show of the season, presenting recent works by Kimberly Hambor.
"Seeing The Light," a photography exhibit, will be viewed during an opening reception Sept. 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Cypress Lake Fine Arts Gallery, at 6740 Panther Lane, Fort Myers.
The exhibit runs through Oct. 18.
Hambor was born in Ohio. In the 7th grade, her science fair project was a pinhole camera and portable darkroom; the photographs for this project received state recognition.
She went on to graduate from the University of Akron with a degree in commercial art. During her post graduation work, she was an advertising photographer, sculptor and product designer.
Hambor moved to Naples in 1988, where she worked as a graphic artist for Prestige Printing. She also started a stock photography business, in which her images were featured in publications like billboards, magazines and coffee table books.
She now runs a photography studio and exhibits her work nationally and internationally. She is known for her representations of Florida and use of infrared photography.
