Annual toy drive under way as Winterfest nears

By Staff | Oct 23, 2013

The Lehigh Acres Community is getting ready for the major holiday event – the Second Annual Lehigh Winterfest, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, from noon to 8 p.m.

More information can be obtained from the online Web site at: www.lehighwinterfest.com.

Veterans Park is at 55 Homestead Road.

The Lehigh Winterfest will bring together the Lehigh Acres community to celebrate Christmas with a variety of fun activities for the entire family.

There will be live entertainment, Christmas music, bounce houses, slides, pony rides, giveaways, prizes and best of winter snow.

Christmas performances are scheduled throughout the event, with Santa Claus making a surprise carriage visit.

During the event, families will enjoy appearances from popular children characters. Families will also be able to take pictures with Santa Claus and children will be able to enjoy all the fun activities in the “North Pole Area.”

The Annual Lehigh Winterfest Toy Drive will be conducted in partnership with Lehigh Acres Community Initiative and Zumba with Ellie Lopez, which will benefit many families in Lehigh that are in need.

The Web site provides drop off locations in Lehigh Acres. One toy will make a difference to support local children who are in need, organizers said.

With the support from Lee County schools, toys will be distributed Dec. 14. The Toy Drive began this past week and will end at Lehigh Winterfest on Dec. 7.

Local businesses with products and services geared to families will benefit by participating in Lehigh Winterfest, either as vendors or sponsors. All businesses are invited to participate to showcase their products and services and admission and parking is free.

For toy drive, vendor or sponsorship information, contact president Chris Mojica at (239) 634-5369 or winterfest.com.
