He was first to empty his pocket for someone in need. He was artistic, warm and witty; he loved to laugh, and he hated going to the doctor.

He adored his little dog, MacMac.

He had a keen intelligence, delighted in history and football and in a juicy steak, and understood that the change we wish to see in the world must begin with each of us.

Survivors include his mother, Joan of Lehigh Acres; brothers, Don (Cheryl) and Steven (May); sisters, Karen, Donna (Ron) and Debbie (Dennis); and stepmother, Maureen.

He was predeceased by his father, Don; and grandparents, Bill and Olive.

Services were held Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at the Anderson-Patterson Funeral Chapel in Lehigh Acres. Interment was held at Lee Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the local food bank.
