The Lee County Homeless Coalition has launched a new Web site at: www.LeeHomeless.org.
The site provides quick links to an extensive list of services providers and resources available to assist the homeless in Lee County in a variety of areas including food, clothing and shelter assistance, as well as healthcare, legal, housing, employment and transportation services.
In addition, important links for the latest statistics, reports and other resources impacting the homeless community are provided on the "News & Resources" page.
"The new Web site makes it much easier for those who need help or people/organizations making referrals to connect the homeless with the appropriate services to help improve their quality of life," said Janet Bartos, executive director of the Lee County Homeless Coalition. "The Web site also empowers the community to join the cause with links and contacts to volunteer, become a member, donate or learn more about the needs of the homeless community."
In addition to enhanced access to service providers and volunteer opportunities, the site includes links to upcoming events such as fundraisers and vigils.
To improve user engagement, the site also allows member agencies to submit stories or request information via the site.
