To the editor:
Here they go again. Same names, Rick and Ruth Anglickis, Jere Carrick and the rest of the Lehigh Acres Community Council gang, supported by Lee County Commissioner Frank Mann, who lost every polling place in Lehigh in the last election.
Remember he was the guy that pushed the vote on the last election. What happened to the guy that chaired the last incorporation fiasco - don't even remember his name. Who is the next sucker they will convince to take the hit on this attempt to tax the people of Lehigh out of their homes?
What are some of the costs of incorporation?
Last time it was an additional $25 million in taxes. The latest from the county is that we paid $13 million to the county commission fund and they spent $80 million in services back to Lehigh Acres.
Does that mean we will start off $67 million short plus adding on money for elected city officials and public works employees, deputy sheriffs, plus buildings and equipment and rent to Lee County to use theirs until we raise our taxes to pay a couple of hundred million dollars to get started.
No wonder they never tell us how much these stupid ideas are going to cost. Citizens Against Increased Taxes (CAIT) is going on record of being opposed to this tax-raising scheme.
Oh and by the way, the last quote for sewers and water was $14,000 to $18,000 per home and that was at least five years ago.
