Veterans Park Recreation Center offers new classes
Starting in November, the Veterans Park Recreation?Center will offer a Family and Friends CPR and AED classes every third Saturday of the month.
The course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult hands-only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant.
Skills are taught in a classroom setting by using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.
The classes are intended for parents, grandparents and teenagers who babysit, ages 10-15 if accompanied by an adult.
The course does not include a certification upon completion.
Cost of the course is $25.
Classes are held from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
