Caloosahatchee Regional Park events

- Archery Home School Program: Nov. 14 from 2-4 p.m.

Homeschool students will learn about the history of archery and archery equipment, and have a chance to practice shooting with a bow and arrow. The class is taught by a National Archery in the Schools trained instructor. All equipment will be provided. Parents are asked to stay for this class. Meet at the campground entrance at 19130 N. River Road. For ages 8-18. Cost is $5 per student. A parking fee is required.

- Caloosahatchee to Hickey's Creek Kayak Trip: Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The six-hour kayak trip begins and ends at Caloosahatchee Regional Park campground. Paddlers should be experienced or in good physical condition for the five-mile paddle on the Great Calusa Blueway. Eat lunch and hike at Hickey's Creek Mitigation Park before paddling back. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All kayaking equipment is provided. Bring a drink, lunch, sunscreen, binoculars, clothing and shoes that can get wet. Meet at the campground entrance at 19130 N. River Road. Cost is $40 per person. Registration is required.

- Cypress Creek Kayak Tour: Nov. 26 from 9-11 a.m.

This slow-paced paddle is great for all experience levels. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All kayaking equipment is provided. Bring a drink, sunscreen, binoculars, clothing and shoes that can get wet. Meet at the campground entrance at 19130 N. River Road. Cost is $25 per person. Registration is required.

Caloosahatchee Regional Park is located at 18500 North River Road in Alva.
