November 29, 2013
Lehigh Acres Citizen

The Kiwanis Club of Riverdale presents the 19th Annual Kiwanis Medieval Faire from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 11-12 and 18-19 at Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers.

The entrance fee is $15 for adults, $5 for children under 13, and toddlers are admitted free.

For group discounts, call Sandy Wheeler at 369-6881.

There is ample free parking at the park, as well as ATMs at the gate and inside the grounds.

The faire will feature jousters, jugglers and minstrels, a human chess match, games to challenge one's skills, rides, and merchants.

There are men in tights, bawdy wenches, lords and ladies, rogues and rapscallions.

All weapons must be sheathed and peace-tied; no unmasked blades will be permitted.

The Kiwanis Club will host a beer tent with covered seating and live entertainment.

All proceeds support various children's projects in Lee County, such as the Adopt-a-School program, seasonal food baskets, in addition to many others.

All money raised stays local and is used for local projects to benefit the community.
