To the editor:

Dear Lehigh Makes A Difference Day participants and Lehigh Acres residents, thank you for all the hard work and dedication each of you have put into making the 2nd Annual Lehigh Makes A Difference Day event on Oct. 26 such a huge success.

Your efforts truly impacted the residents that came out to enjoy a day in the park with their community. A special thanks goes out to Sweetbay of Lehigh Acres for assisting us with the food and cooking of all those hot dogs, My Cheap Party Rentals in Lehigh Acres for providing and setting up all the tables and tents, Kiwanis of Lehigh Acres and Mr. Bill for the fun filled hayrides, Boys and Girls Club of Lehigh Acres for sponsoring the Triple Play Kids Zone, First Baptist of Lehigh Acres for the wonderful invocation during opening ceremonies, East Lee County High School for all of their involvement, Veterans Park for their amazing dedication and partnership, all of the wonderful organizations and vendors that showcased their projects to assist in lifting up Lehigh, last but not least, the Lehigh Acres Community Initiative and the Lehigh Makes a Difference planning committee for taking on this annual project to bring awareness and support to so many in our community, without each of you this would not be possible.

There are so many great things in this community and we truly need to start shining the light on those things. We are the only ones that can change Lehigh Acres, so what's stopping us?

As Margret Mead once stated "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
