At approximately 1:22 a.m. Nov. 24, the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding an armed robbery that occurred at the 7-11 at 2530 Joel Blvd.
Deputies responded to scene and set up a perimeter. The sheriff's office K-9 and Aviation Units responded to assist with the suspect search.
The suspects were not located.
Due to the nature of the crime detectives with the Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
Detectives discovered two men entered the store one armed with a riffle and the other carried a red duffle bag. They ordered the employees to stay in the back of the store as the two exchanged possession of the weapon and duffle bag and took turns going behind the counter stealing various packages of tobacco products.
Both men fled the area.
The exact quantity, brand and value of the stolen tobacco products were unknown at the time.
One man is described as possibly Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds and in his early 20s. He was wearing a camouflage style jacket, black ski mask with blue trim, baggy blue jeans and neon yellow and green gloves with black palms, similar to mechanics gloves.
The second man is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 145 pounds and in his early 20s. He was wearing a red jacket over a white T-shirt, black and yellow hat, brown plastic mask, dirty blue jeans and black gloves.
