Community lectures free, open to the public

Covenant Presbyterian Church, at 2439 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, presents the following “Wednesday Morning Live!” lectures from 10 to 11 a.m.:

– Today, Jan. 15: “Religion and Politics” presented by Lee County Commissioner Frank Mann.

– Jan. 22: “Our Forgotten Neighbors” presented by Barbara Mainstar, executive director of the Redlands Christian Migrant Association.

– Jan. 29: “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” presented by Douglas Molloy, film critic and retired Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney.

The lectures are free; coffee and snacks are available at 9:30 a.m.

Ethnic Pirohi Dinner planned at All Saints Catholic Church

All Saints Catholic Church will host an Ethnic Pirohi Dinner on Jan. 18 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at 10291 Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers.

Featured will be Pirohi, stuffed cabbage, vegetables and a dessert of choice, with coffee or tea.

Cost is $12 per dinner.

Baked goods will also be available for sale at the dinner.

Buckingham Presbyterian Church sets next fish fry

Buckingham Presbyterian Church will hold a fish fry on Feb. 7 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 4241 Buckingham Road in Fort Myers.

The dinner includes an 8-ounce portion of fish, homemade baked beans and coleslaw, hush puppies and dessert. Iced tea, lemonade or coffee will be available.

Cost is $10 per person; children under 1 are $5 for a half portion of fish and regular portions of everything else.
