Police seeking identity of man caught on camera during robberies

Fort Myers police have released surveillance photos of the man they say robbed two local businesses with a knife.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, at 7:59 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department investigated a robbery at the Dunkin Donuts at 4726 Cleveland Avenue.

Upon arrival police learned a white male with dark brown hair, a goatee and eyebrow piercing entered the business, ordered a coffee and then pulled a knife on the clerk demanding money. The suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was wearing a black jacket with blue jeans and is believed to be in his mid to late 20's.

On Sunday, Feb. 2, at 7:08 p.m. the Fort Myers Police Department investigated a robbery at the Family Dollar at 4650 Cleveland Avenue.

The business was robbed by the same white male, this time dressed in a black T-shirt, blue hooded sweatshirt and white pants. The suspect again was armed with a knife and lunged over the counter to snatch money from the clerk who was in the process of making a money drop.

Police say the suspect was accompanied by a white female. The two fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash, officials said.

Police would like the public to review released surveillance photos of the suspect and alleged accomplice. Tipsters can remain anonymous. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the robbery suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
