Margaret Thompson Baumgardner, 76, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. She was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Gloucester, Va.
Throughout her life, she was a hard-working woman, faithful wife and loving mother.
In addition to running a busy household, she managed the office for the contracting business operated by her husband.

After spending her early life in Virginia, she found a home in LaBelle and loved the people at the Oxbow Golf Course.
After the unfortunate closure of the golf course, she moved to Lehigh Acres and was blessed to again find some wonderful people to love.
She was instrumental in arranging and managing several charity golfing events.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard Baumgardner; children, Brenda Tyson, Cindy (Kee) Wong and Pat (Jack) Cruse; grandchildren, Austin Mueller, Rose Drinnon, Robert Drinnon, Rachel Drinnon, Kit Wong and Kai Wong; great-grandchild, Brooke Hastings; sisters, Mary Kemp, Martha (Bobby) Hudgins, Emma (Buck) Walton, Alice (John) White and Grace "Red" (Hammie) Rowe; and nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Burleigh Thompson; sister, Marion Shackelford; and son, Richard Allen Baumgardner.
There will be a celebration of life at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, in the upstairs dining room at the Majestic Golf Course, at 350 S. Homestead Road.
