Lobster Fest proceeds to help needy

If you are a lobster lover, then Rae Nicely, the executive director of Lehigh Community Services, says she has some good news for you. Her agency is holding a Lobster Fest on March 1 at the Microtel Inn Hotel banquet room on Business Way in Lehigh.

The Lobster Fest is a fund-raising event for Lehigh Community Services.

Cocktails are from 5 to 6 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m., she said. There will also be entertainment.

Nicely said the cost is $55 per person in advance or $60 at the door.

The menu consists of two and a quarter pound Maine lobsters, sirloin steak or half a chicken.

All meals come with creamy clam chowder, Maine steamed clams, Maine mussels, baby red potatoes, corn on the cob, hard-boiled egg, rolls, condiments, cole slaw and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

For ticket information, call 239-369-5818 or go online at www.lehighcommunityservices.com.

LCS is a 502 (c3) agency that helps out the less fortunate in Lehigh Acres, Nicely said.

"We want folks to really enjoy the lobster of any of the other selections. When we had this the last time, it was really a lot of fun, a real blast and everyone enjoyed it," she said.

"It is a fund-raiser to help us buy food and other items and help out those who are having financial problems in Lehigh. That is built into the price of the meal," she said.

If you want to help out and buy a dinner ticket, you are encouraged to do it as soon as possible as the dinner is March 1 and they need to have an accurate number of people who are going to attend.

"It's a great fund-raiser for us and it is a really great meal and a lot of fun with our entertainment," Nicely said.
