Jeannette D. Shephard, 89, of Lehigh Acres, and formerly Maineville, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Middletown in Butler County, Ohio, to George and Roxie (Baker) Davis.
Her youth was spent growing up on Ohio farms in Butler, Hamilton and Clermont counties. In 1942, she graduated from Batavia High School in Clermont County.
Her desire to serve her country during World War II resulted in her enlistment in the U.S. Navy in 1944.

For many years she served as a 4-H advisor and an extension agent for Warren County, Ohio.
On May 22, 1943, she married John Lawrence Lee of Cincinnati.
While in Ohio, she was an active member of Sycamore Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati. In Lehigh Acres, she was an active member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was a skilled homemaker and prize winning cook. She and Jack enjoyed many cruises and other trips throughout the world.
She enjoyed good health until the last year.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Lois (Tom) Lee Milligan, Tom (Deborah) Lee, Steve (Aurelia) Lee and Andrea?(Mark) Lee; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, John Davis of Missouri.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Lawrence Lee, who died in 1962; four sisters; and one brother.
At her request, there will not be a memorial service. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Symmes Township, Hamilton County, Ohio.
