To the editor:
I would like to thank all of my supporters and donors for everything they have done for me during these past three years. After two great years as Honorary Mayor, my terms have come to an end. I am elated to have been a part of a competition that places an emphasis on the people of Lehigh Acres whether it be through the ribbon cuttings, commemorating new businesses or raising funds for local non-for-profit organizations.
Part of the money raised over the last three years has helped the Chest Institute raise awareness for early lung cancer detection. The Chest Institute is able to offer free CT screenings for people who are at a high risk of developing lung cancer because of the money raised.
I am thankful to all of my donors for the constant support we have received over the course of these past three races. It has been my sincerest honor participating in and witnessing the growth of businesses in our community. I am pleased to know that with my supporters I have been able to raise over $15,000 over the past three years for community organizations.
In addition, I was able to encourage a very intense competition this year making this year's race one of the most successful in the history of the Honorary Mayoral races.
The 2014 honorary mayoral race was an exciting and successful endeavor! Raising over $20,000 collectively, the ultimate winners are the local charities and the Lehigh Chamber of Commerce.
After being the youngest honorary mayor elected for two consecutive years, I would like to congratulate Osman Gruhonjic on his efforts. I plan to continue serving the Lehigh Acres community by volunteering in any way I can.
