Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida, the largest independent multi-specialty practice in Southwest Florida, has broken ground for a new 10,580 square foot medical office that will consolidate their Lehigh Acres offices into one location.
The new office will be located at 5700 Lee Boulevard and will incorporate family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics. Those offices currently are located at 3507 Lee Boulevard and 5624 8th Street West and will continue to operate at those locations until construction is completed sometime this fall.
Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson participated in the March 24 ground-breaking along with Dr. Mary Yankaskas, Dr. John Bartlett, Dr. Nuel Celebrado, Dr. Sarah DiGiorgi and Dr. Michael Verwest of Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida.
Also participating were builder Mark Stevens of Stevens Construction, architect Lyndon Pollock of Burt Hill/Pollock Krieg Architects, Dean Martin of TDM Consulting, Inc., and Roger Scharlau of Busey Bank.
"These new quarters will allow us to bring our Lehigh Acres offices -- pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology and family medicine -- all under one roof to accommodate the growth in patients. Our patients also will have better access to care and more efficient care from this Lee Boulevard location," said Yankaskas, managing physician of Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida.
The new office will be ideally situated to serve patients in both Lehigh Acres and Fort Myers because of its easy access from both communities, Yankaskas said.
The new facility will include 18 exam rooms, six nurses' stations, six physicians' offices and an ultrasound room.
In addition to the six physicians, the new office will house about 20 employees.
Physicians who will practice at the new building include Dr. John Bartlett (pediatrics), Dr. Nuel Celebrado (pediatrics), Dr. Anita Del Bianco (ob-gyn), Dr. Sarah DiGiorgi (ob-gyn), Dr. Aparna Eligeti, (ob-gyn), Dr. Eric W. Jones (pediatrics), Dr. Annabelle Martin (pediatrics), Dr. Kathleen Shimp (ob-gyn), Dr. Michael Verwest (family medicine) and Dr. Stanley Wiggins (pediatrics).
Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida, a physician-owned and operated medical practice, was formed in 1996 by many long practicing local physicians and has grown to become the largest independent multi-specialty primary care practice in Southwest Florida with more than 45 physicians and medical professionals.
Medical specialties include internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology. Offices are conveniently located in Lehigh Acres, Fort Myers and Cape Coral. For more information, visit www.ppcswfl.com.
