Dominick S. Bruno Sr., 93, of Lehigh Acres, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014. He was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
He retired from the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He was a proud Pearl Harbor survivor.
After the military, he retired from DuPont.
He was a life member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, life member of the VFW Post 4174 in Lehigh Acres, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lehigh Acres Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving are his son, Dominick J. (Debra) Bruno Jr., U.S. Army Ret. Iraq Freedom veteran; daughters, Frances (Paul) Baumeister and Cindy Bruno; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Ann, in 2003.
The family will receive friends today, April 9, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Hodges-Farley Funeral Home, at 1100 Lee Blvd. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
