Notices for driver license suspensions sent in error

April 16, 2014
Lehigh Acres Citizen

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is transitioning to a new system to verify insurance validity for Florida drivers.

In recent weeks, some of the driver license suspension notices were issued in error. Lee County Tax Collector, Larry D. Hart is in communication with the state to resolve the issue.

Those license records that were affected by the error are systematically being restored by the department.

Citizens who have received an insurance suspension letter dated after March 31 can check the status of their license online using DHSMV's website at: flhsmv.gov.
