Authorities: Lehigh home invaders caught in the act

A third suspect has been arrested for an armed home invasion robbery that occurred early Thursday morning in Lehigh Acres.

Shawndell McCann-Joseph, 22, of 4502 Robin Ave., Naples, is charged with robbery home invasion with a firearm, impersonating a law enforcement officer in the commission of a crime, wearing a mask in the commission of a crime and wearing a ballistic vest in the commission of a crime.

Two suspects were previously booked and charged in the overnight robbery.

Ebron Taylor, 20, of 4842 Archie Lane, Fort Myers, was charged with robbery home invasion with a firearm and impersonating a law enforcement officer in the commission of a crime.

Brandon Doeden, 26, of 7161 Crystal Drive, Fort Myers, was charged with robbery home invasion with a firearm, impersonating a law enforcement officer in the commission of a crime, wearing a mask in the commission of a crime and wearing a ballistic vest in the commission of a crime.

On April 24 at 12:43 a.m., a call was received at the Lee County Sheriff's about someone breaking into a home in the 800 block of Clow Street East.

Deputies responded to the scene and engaged suspects while the crime was still in progress. The suspects were heavily armed and shots were fired.

As suspects ran from the home, one subject was taken into custody, the others in multiple directions. Additional units arrived to continue the search for the robbers.

A second suspect was apprehended by a K-9. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and the K-9 bite. Two others were also found in the vicinity.

The two deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave with pay as is standard protocol in such matters.

Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott has been in touch with the Collier County sheriff to determine if there is any connection to recent robberies in their jurisdiction.
