There are now almost 90,000 people who live in Lehigh Acres, and there has been a hospital in the area supporting the community since the population was less than half of that number.
Over the past decade there have been many changes in the services provided by Lehigh Regional, and there are now numerous services offered at the facility that many people are unaware of.
Lehigh Regional Medical Center has a Sleep Study Center located in the hospital. It is located on the Third Floor and has four state-of-the-art rooms, where people with sleep disorders are able have their sleep patterns monitored in a setting that is like a hotel. We have queen size beds with sleep number or posturepedic mattresses in order to give everyone the most comfortable sleep while having the exam.
A technician, who is specially trained in sleep studies, is in attendance at all times to monitor sleep patterns, and our physician, Dr. Al-Nakeeb, analyzes the results of the examination. Dr. Al-Nakeeb will assess what is needed for the patient to improve their sleep patterns, to be more rested and therefore healthier.
Please call (239) 369-4503 if you are interested in hearing more about this service.
We also have the Wound Care Center that is located in the Lehigh Medical Plaza across the parking lot from the hospital. Patients with wounds that won't heal or diabetics causing wound issues, can be seen at the Wound Care Center and treated by a physician with specialized training in wound care.
Along with these, and the many other departments of the hospital, we have a multi-specialty medical group. The Lehigh Medical Group specialties include primary care, dermatology, general surgery, GI, cardiology and pulmonology. Lehigh Medical Group offices are located in Lehigh Acres to provide care for the community.
Thank you for supporting your local hospital. We are proud to be part of Lehigh Acres and are dedicated to your good health ... always.
Joanie Jeannette is the chief executive officer at Lehigh Regional Medical Center.
