The roster of activities at East County Regional Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free:
- English Cafe
10 a.m. May 30
Practice your English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.
- Knitting Nook
5 p.m. May 28
Join this fun, casual group of knitters and crocheters who get together to share project and technique ideas. Please note that this group is not facilitated by a professional knitting instructor and it is intended for group members to learn from each other. Some materials will be provided for newcomers, or bring a project to work on. Sponsored by the Friends of the East County Regional Library.
- Growing Edibles in the Summer
2 p.m. May 31
Summers are too hot to grow edibles in Southwest Florida, right? Wrong. Join UF/IFAS Agriculture Program Coordinator and local gardener Karen as she shares a variety of fruits and vegetables that can be grown during the long, hot, humid summer season. Keep eating home-grown fresh produce year-round! Registration is requested.
