To the editor:
With the close of candidate qualifying for the 2014 election, it appears I will be unopposed in my re-election bid. I want to thank all of those who supported me since my filing to run for re-election. I also want to thank the citizens of the East County Water Control District for their continued trust in my ability to represent them on the Board of Commissioners.
It has been a wonderful four years. So many issues have been resolved, from the construction of a permanent headquarters for our district, through sound budget processes that have resulted in not a single assessment increase for the ratepayers of the district, to new innovative ways to better our districts infrastructure in the most cost effective and efficient ways possible.
I was ready to run on a record that I am more than proud of, a record that I feel represents the will of the people.
All too often our elected leaders forget why they were elected, it is simply to represent the people. While I may not have an election, I understand there is always room for improvement, and will never forget my original promise four years ago to be a voice for the people.
I urge all resident to provide feedback, attend meetings, be informed, and share your ideas; it is the only way we can continue the great progress we have made. Thank You.
