Anyone who has had surgery knows it can be a scary, stressful experience.
I am proud to tell you that the Lehigh Regional Medical Center surgical services department, is consistently rated by patients, as one of the best in the area.
The nurses and staff are all well trained and experienced, and the physicians, whether they are our General Surgeon, Dr. Joshua Lee, or a specialist, are skilled, caring and compassionate.
For those who need outpatient surgery, the area is easily accessible, and provides patients with privacy from the rest of the hospital.
An appointment is scheduled with the nurse a day prior to the outpatient procedure to gather patient medical information and answer questions.
The anesthesia staff also meets with the patient during this time.
On arrival the day of surgery, the patient is greeted by a nurse, and brought to the area where they are prepared prior to their surgery.
During this process the entire staff is very sensitive to any patient needs or concerns, and are focused on providing personal attention and quality care.
Immediately after the surgery, the experienced OR nurses in PACU concentrate exclusively on the patient's recovery process.
Once patients are discharged from the recovery area, they leave with a flower in hand, and detailed instructions as to what to expect and what to do when they get home.
The patients receive a phone call from a licensed nurse during the next few days to follow up and answer any questions.
If you require surgery, please utilize our surgical services.
We look forward to providing you with quality healthcare and the personal attention that you expect and deserve.
Joanie Jeannette is the chief executive officer for Lehigh Regional Medical Center.
