'Undies Sunday' program set

Buckingham Presbyterian Church, at 4241 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers, will conduct its annual "Undies Sunday" program during July to benefit Elementary School students.

The purpose of the effort is to collect new children's underwear, new socks and school supplies, such as notebooks, crayons and pencils.

The items will be distributed by staffers to students in need.

Donations of new items or checks are greatly appreciated; the church will use the monetary donations to purchase the needed items.

Distribution will take place at the beginning of the new school year.

First Community to host Gospel Jubilee, Pancake Breakfast

First Community Congregational Church will host a Gospel Jubilee on July 26 at 200 E. Leeland Heights Blvd.

Some of the singers are Rose Mason from Labelle, James Mc Duffy and Richard Hayden.

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The Gospel Sing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and includes dinner and a show.

First Community Congregational Church is also offering all the pancakes you can eat at its Pancake Breakfast held every other Saturday.

The upcoming dates are July 26, Aug. 9 and 23.

Cost is $3 for adults and $1 for children under 10.
