Before the monthly meeting of the Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue began on July 29, Fire Chief John Wayne, said he on behalf of the fire district wanted to honor several members who have attained long-time service years at the department.

Cake and punch were set up on a long table in the meeting room where the board comes together once each month to conduct business of the fire district.

Wayne spent considerable time honoring each recipient individually as flash cameras snapped away at the presentations by family members and friends.
