George Alan Wadsworth

September 10, 2014
Lehigh Acres Citizen

George Alan Wadsworth, 71, of Lehigh Acres, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, to the late George W. and Eunice McLaughlin Wadsworth.

He was educated in Warren, Rhode Island, and then moved with his family to Fort Myers in 1962.

He was the owner of Lewis Plumbing until 1997.

He was a devoted father to his daughters ... a real "soccer dad." His greatest joys were derived from the happiness and accomplishments of his family.

Known as a storyteller, he was rarely quiet in a crowd. He loved being around other people.

His memory will be cherished by his daughters, Nicole Wadsworth of Athens, Ohio, and Lauren Wadsworth of Fort Myers; sisters-in-law, Micki (Bill) Munro, Beth (Michael McNally) Drouin of Fort Myers, and Marty Wadsworth of Port Charlotte; brother-in-law, John DalleNogare; granddaughters, Madie and Maya Roth-Wadsworth; niece, Leigh Ann; nephews, Scott, Jason and Donald; cousins; and "adopted" children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Donnita, to whom he was married (as he told everyone) 40 years, five months, and one day; parents; brother, David; and sister, Ellen DalleNogare.

His family would like to thank all the angels who took care of him at Manor Care and Hope Hospice.

A celebration of his life will be held today, Sept. 10, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
