$889 million to be spent in the 2016 elections
To the editor:
And who do you think is shopping for candidates with “for sale” signs on their votes? The Koch Brothers, Charles and David, and they are looking to spend billions more to influence political issues pertaining to the natural gas, oil and coal industries, that are their source of wealth. They have already bought the votes of congressmen on the issue of the Keystone Pipeline.
The Koch Brothers and their advocacy groups (Americans for Prosperity, American Energy Alliance and Heritage Action) in buying the elections of those who will vote their agenda, are threats to the integrity of the 2016 election and to the welfare of the nation.
Unlimited money is the obvious threat to our elections, but the even larger threat comes in the organization of a system larger than either Republican Party or the Democratic Party.
It includes a highly efficient computer system that is the best money can buy. Money speaks, buying candidates and TV ads; however, we the people must vote to make our voice heard louder. We the people must demand campaign reform.
The Koch Brothers are a threat to our environment with extensive fracking with chemicals harmful to our underground water aquifers.
They reap billions in profits but the taxpayers pay the cost for cleanups. There is an expense to our nature and to our environment. We the voters have some power to stop this takeover by lobbyists (that are the best money can buy).
Our country cannot be owned by the 1 percent interested only in their profits. We must diligently watch all currently proposed legislation to evaluate if this law is favorable to good of all people or is this law favoring special interests that are not good for our country.
This is the time for the voters to do their homework on all candidates. This is the time to do your homework on how our legislators are voting on issues.
