Pastor Claude Freeman Wilson, 94, of Alva, Florida passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was one of 4 children born February 26, 1921 in Bainbridge, Indiana the son of Thomas and Lillie Mae (Staggs) Wilson. Claude grew up in Greencastle, Indiana and served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4 years during World War II. He spent most of his life in ministry as a Chaplain in Indiana and as Assoc. Pastor of the Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, FL. He later moved with his family to Lee County in 1978 where he became Associate Pastor of Riverside Baptist Church until 1981. Most will remember his dedication to Lehigh Acres and surrounding area through his ministry as Senior Pastor at the Lee Boulevard Baptist Church for the past 34 years. Pastor Wilson was currently on medical leave and was hoping to return to his church family and preaching when he was called home to be with his Lord and Savior. Pastor Wilson leaves behind to celebrate his memory: loving wife of 47 years, Geneva (Jones) Wilson of Alva, FL; 3 sons; 2 daughters; 25 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 sister, 2 brothers and 1 baby. Burial with military honors took place at Sarasota National Cemetery. A life remembrance service will be held at 2pm on Sat., April 18, 2015 at the Lee Blvd. Baptist Church, 3107 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres, FL. Arrangements in care of Andeson-Patterson.
