Postal News: USPS official to speak at meeting

Manager Pricing Innovations Bruce Allen, of the United States Postal Service headquartered in Washington, D.C., will address a group of small business owners and mailers at the Southwest Florida Postal Customer Council meeting on June 9 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Mail Processing Center, at 14080 Jetport Loop, Fort Myers.

Following Allen will be a special guest speaker discussing how to build your business with direct mail marketing.

Allen has been a postal employee for 36 years and began his career in Massachusetts in finance and budgeting. He has also held positions as a postmaster and other positions in field operations. He transferred to headquarters in 2008 and began working for sales and marketing. After a period of time as the lead analyst for the sales group, he took his present job.

Allen is responsible for pricing new products and services, negotiated service agreements for market dominant products and for international pricing. He has served as a witness before the Postal Regulatory Commission and has filed over 100 special pricing agreements for approval.

At the PCC meeting Allen will discuss the postal rate changes that will go into effect on May 31.
