Fresh prospective for county commission

By Staff | Feb 17, 2016

To the editor:

The 2016 election holds a promise of a new fresh prospective when it comes to electing a Lee County commissioner for District 5. Lehigh’s own Diane Zigrossi is that fresh prospective. Having an accumulated 16 years of elected experience as a former school board member; alderman for the city of Lockport; and a former Will County board/Forrest Preserve commissioner means she can hit the ground running and tackle those issues important to each of us.

Diane has a strong passion advocating for the needs of senior citizens and people with disabilities. During her tenure on the county board, she held the second highest ranking position on the board floor of 26 members as Democratic caucus chairman, vice-chair of its executive committee and a member of each standing committee in that capacity including: Para-transit and the South-suburban Airport Policy Committee.

She assumed the position of president of the Lehigh Acres Economic Development Board and is a member of the finance committee of the Christ United Methodist Church in Lehigh Acres. Her run for Lee County commissioner is a belief in public service, not strictly politics; giving back to one’s community and being a voice and advocate for all of her residents.

I am encouraged to see a candidate of this caliper step forward, whose message is clear – to help make Lee County a better place to live, work, play and pray. Join me in supporting Diane Zigrossi as your next Lee County commissioner in District 5.
