To the editor:

Girl Scout cookies have arrived in Southwest Florida. Beginning Feb. 13, Girl Scouts will out in the community armed with boxes of the traditional, beloved treats.

Customers may search for local booths by zip code or download the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app at: www.girlscoutcookies.org.

Those observing restrictive diets can still support Girl Scouts by purchasing cookies through “Mints for Military” to be donated to support our active military personnel and veterans.

The Girl Scout cookie program is the largest girl-led business in the world. Through the program, girls learn five skills that are essential for leadership, success and life: goal setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

Cookie sales help local troops fund their activities and community service projects, as well support council programs, camp properties, program scholarships, and more.

One hundred percent of proceeds stays within the local Girl Scout council.

For more information about local Girl Scout Cookie sales, visit: www.gsgcf.org/cookies-more.
