Facebook page launched

Lee County’s Department of Human and Veteran Services has launched a Facebook page at: www.leegov.com/dhs.

It will be used to: announce and promote opportunities and programs regarding financial and housing assistance; recruit potential contractors for housing programs; recruit potential landlords for the Family Self-Sufficiency Program; announce Request for Applications from non-profits when funding is available; and share events and programs.

LCEC honored as Center of Excellence for fourth year

LCEC been recognized as a Certified Center of Excellence for the fourth consecutive year by BenchmarkPortal.

It is one of the most prestigious awards in the customer service and support industry.

According to BMP, LCEC stands out from other utilities because:

– 192 companies are in BMPs Utilities Database

– 76 are energy re-seller

– 83 are investor owned

– 33 are municipalities

– Only five other energy utility companies nationwide are certified as a Center of Excellence

– LCEC is the only cooperative certified as a Center of Excellence

Speaker Series scheduled

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt is hosting its the 2016 C-Suite Speaker Series.

Attorneys will share information and offer tips on a variety of business-related topics that companies and their executives can use.

Each session will take place at 5 p.m. at 1715 Monroe St., with an hour of networking, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by an hour of instruction.

The topics and speakers include:

– Nov. 3: Guy Whitesman and John Agnew present “Protecting Your Business from Former Partners and Employees: Proactive Steps, Reactive Options”
